Fishing the Sea of Tiberias

working day into night.

Time measured in weather –

nets are empty or sufficient.

Repairing holes, re-tying knots,

cleaning out muck: toil in payment

of the unpayable.

Have you fish?

The resurrected Jesus waits on shore.

Cast on the right side;

ordinary activities directed –  

astonish and we grasp the opportunity

to take a new tack.

Mountains and hills made low,

raging waters calmed,

seven small loaves and a few fish

feed multitudes: all is accomplished.

The meal is ready.

The invitation – eternal.

Take and eat.
